RPT 524218.19 – Park Position Signal Fault
RPT 524218.19 (RPT )
Code: 524218.19
Shortcode:
Description:
This diagnostic trouble code, RPT 524218.19, is generated when the park position signal cannot be determined and provided on the CAN bus by the control software for PTA (AutoPowr™/IVT™ transmission), PTQ (PowrQuad™ transmission), or PTD (DirectDrive transmission). A transmitted replacement value generates this diagnostic trouble code. In its active state, this fault can also generate a diagnostic trouble code at the PTA, PTQ, or PTD control software. These diagnostic trouble codes take priority.
Reaction:
When this error is detected, the functionality of the rear PTO is significantly limited or entirely non-functional.
Recommendations:
Inspect Park Position Sensor:
- Check the park position sensor for proper operation.
- Replace the sensor if it is found to be defective.
Inspect Wiring and Connections:
- Check the wiring and connections associated with the park position sensor for signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- Repair or replace any damaged wires or connectors.
Verify CAN Bus Communication:
- Use diagnostic tools to test the CAN bus communication for any irregularities or failures.
- Ensure that all CAN messages from the PTA, PTQ, or PTD control software are being correctly transmitted and received by the RPT control software.
Update Control Software:
- Ensure that the PTA, PTQ, PTD, and RPT control software are all updated to the latest versions.
- Install any available patches or updates that address CAN bus communication issues.
Consult Technical Support:
- If the problem persists after initial troubleshooting, consult with technical support or the equipment manufacturer for further assistance.
- Provide detailed information about the issue, including any error logs or diagnostic reports.
Note:
Regular maintenance and inspections of the park position sensor and associated wiring can help prevent such issues. Ensuring that the control software is up-to-date is crucial for maintaining reliable operation.
